Hello all! At last, a bright and sunny day! In this early morning, we were all feeling the excitement of sailing out into the calm waters of Eyjafjörður. No wind, no waves, just pure bliss. We had absolutely perfect sighting conditions and, as the sun rose high in the sky, we were delighted to find the usual fluke show of humpback whales. Just before Hjalteyri, we spotted one blow after the other, as the whales kept surfacing for one or two breaths and diving quickly afterwards. Our passengers kept sighing and smiling at the surprising gracefulness of these gentle giants. And the whale (cherry) on top: a minke whale, just 5 meters away from Hólmosol, showing of its perfectly sharp dorsal fin, so curious and boldly approaching us. We just took it all in. It feels like summer now!
