Hello all! Yes, we are pleased to announce that it still feels like summer in Eyjafjörður, a whole 14 Celsius degrees of a fuzzy, warm feeling. There was almost no need for wearing overalls (almost!). Feeling energized by the clear skies and perfect spotting conditions, we sailed out of the harbour only to find plenty of small fishing boats surrounded by different species of gulls, northern fulmars, arctic terns and even a few long-tailed skuas - an absolute feeding frenzy! So it was not long until we found cetacean activity - a sneaky minke whale - just smoothly cruising by, in the vicinity of Svalbarðseyri. Shortly after, yet another fluke show! And our usual stars: three different humpback whales, ever curious, ever graceful. Getting closer to the boats time and time again, only to leave us wanting more. It is highly addictive this whale watching thing, we tell you!
