What a beautiful day today! We are still enjoying the fantastic weather and great conditions for our whale watching tours and had another sunny day here in Eyjafjörður.
Today, we sailed out and saw one Minke Whale, which was again just outside of Akureyri. In the water around Svalbarðseyrei, we also encountered one Humpback Whale. We sailed further north and just after passing Hjalteyri, we spotted another Humpback Whale, which we first saw in 2021 and named “Shalom”. This Humpback Whale was feeding in that area and we were able to watch it resurface to breathe many times on our morning and afternoon tours. In the afternoon “Shalom” even breached and tail slapped! What a stunning encounter!!!
It does not get much better than this and we enjoyed our tours today so much, we saw one Minke Whale and two Humpback Whales in total!
