Hallo hallo! Today we had one of the best days weather-wise so far with the sunniest of days and quite the flat sea in the morning, though it grew a bit wavy because of the strong winds in the afternoon. We sailed off from Akureyri. The real action started by Hjaltery, where we encountered our two resident Minke whales (Astra and Vestra) after a while we kept on sailing and even though we had to go quite far away for the sightings it was MORE THAN WORTH IT! Because once we were NE of Hrísey island the magic happened when we had four different Humpback whales, surfacing quite close in the same area. But, the grand finale was when the humpy we were closest to BREACHED 3 times in a row and did some pec-slaps to say farewell to us. Simply AMAZING.
