Hello there! After not being able to sail out in the first part of the day because of strong winds and bad weather conditions, we had absolutely amazing weather on our afternoon and evening tours! Pure sunshine and calm waters beside a bit of wind, it was just beautiful to be out on the fjord!
We didn’t have to sail out very far, we spotted two Minke Whales and Harbour Porpoises even before reaching Hjalteyri! The Minke Whales stayed in that area for a while, they kept resurfacing and were quite close to each other. We were able to see them both on our way to Hjalteyri and again on the way back to Akureyri. One Minke Whale also spy hopped by showing its head out of the water, possibly to inspect the surroundings from above the water surface.
What a fantastic evening!
