Hello everyone! The wind was still with us today, but our captains took their viking spirit out, braved the wheather conditions and we sailed to look for whales. In the morning, we spotted 2 humpback whales south Hrisey, and one of them was breaching for few times, what a wonderful sight! Normally, the whales here in Eyjafjörður are busier feeding but sometimes they can also be very acrobatic. We were able to spot harbour porpoises too while we were waiting for the humpback to come back to the surface. In the afternoon trips, we didn’t need to go far as we spotted a humpback whale, this time close to the town of Hjalteiry, sometimes the whale was a bit tricky to see as it was diving for long periods but, many others, it was close to us aswell. But at the 17u tour we got a wonderful show a humpback whale was lunge feeding right around our boat! It was rolling to its side and opening its mouth really wide taking in big gulps of water and fish.
