Whale hello there! We started the day sailing out from the sunniest Akureyri harbour. Only slightly cold due to the northern wind, and with a very flat sea on Eyjafjörður. In this amazing fjord looking like a mirror, we sailed in the direction of Hrísey Island! And every tour was so lovely just enjoying all the birds with the chicks and the clear skies. But in between the birds, our first sighting was 2 Minke whales, one of them so small that for a moment we thought it was a dolphin! A few minutes later when we were sailing closer to one of the minkes BAM! a Humpback whale surfaced in our face. But not only that because we also saw a few splashes on the distance, and it was a pod of roughly 10 White-beaked dolphins. It was an amazing morning indeed, but the action also continued in the afternoon, where again East in Hrísey we found 3 other Humpback whales!!! Simply fantastic swimming around and fluking almost every time. What an amazing day in the fjord 3 different species 2 Minkes, 4 Humpbacks and 10 Dolphins!!!
