Today we had perfect weather to sail out the fjord looking for cetaceans. It was both warm and calm and therefore the sea state was good. The sailing was a real eye candy because Eyjafjörður is quite magical to look at, especially on days like today.
We sailed out all the way to Hrísey and a little north of the island we encountered a lovely calm Humpback whale. The whale was feeding close to the surface and we got to see it very well and had a great time with it. But that was not all because in the latter tours we also encountered 2 Minke whales swimming and feeding around Hrísey. And just when we were enjoying the lovely but sneaky minkes PAM a Humpback whale just went for a deep dive a little far behind, but the best part was that once we got closer it was not 1 but 2 Humpback whales and one of them even started rolling when we were saying goodbye, so we ended up seeing 3 Humpies and 2 Minkes. An amazing day like always here in our fjord with our giant whales yet again.
