Hello everyone! This morning we started the day with very good weather, calm sea and sunny fjord. The first sighting of the day was a Humpback whale that we found by the town of Hjalteyri, thanks to its characteristic markings on its fluke we know it was one of the whales that we spotted yesterday in the same area. Following the code of conduct, after about 30 minutes with the whale, we left it alone and kept sailing north. Sadly the fog wanted to be with us again today and we couldn’t go further north so we decided to sail back closer to the east coast of the fjord, but no more cetaceans were encountered. In the afternoon trip we had to sail for a bit longer until finding the same individual of Humpback whale. For bird lovers, in the second trip we were so lucky as we could spot few Northern gannets, the largest seabird found in northern Atlantic waters!, flying very close to us.
