What a blow! We were extremely lucky today, both with the mostly calm and sunny weather conditions as well as with the whales in Eyjafjörður! On our morning tour, we spotted a Humpback Whale even before reaching Hjalteyri. In the afternoon, we saw at least five Humpback Whales between Grenivík, Hauganes and Hrísey. We could continuously spot their blows near and far, while two of them came up super close to our boat, they were only a few meters away! How exciting to see these fantastic animals up close like that!
Additionally to this, the two Northern Bottlenose Whales were again in Pollurinn and they were spotted by our RIB boat.
Hopefully the weather will stay good in the next days, so we can finally get some more summer days here in Northern Iceland!
