It was another foggy day in the fjord. Days like this make finding whales extra challenging and require us to use more senses besides our eyes, as in these conditions we often hear whales breath before we see them. The fog today was very dense so at some parts of the tour we saw just a wall off white. But despite this we managed to find 3 Humpback whales during our first tour, two just North of Hjalteyri and one South of Hrisey. In the afternoon it looked a lot better in the harbour but when we turned around the corner into the fjord the dense fog was still there. In the afternoon it took us a bit longer to find animals, but on our way back we found one Humpback whale north of Hjalteyri.
So even though conditions are challenging on foggy days it definitely does not mean we cannot find whales.
