What an amazing day in the fjord! Not only did we have amazing weather and water conditions, but we were once again surprised by special visitors. There was a group of Pilot whales in the fjord with small calves, we suspect it was a group of around 25 individuals with several small calves and juveniles. In the morning we saw both this group of Pilot whales and a very calm Humpback whale around Hjalteyri.
In the afternoon we spotted the two Northern bottlenose whales, the ones that were first part of the group of three, in the harbour and also saw both the Pilot whales and the Humpback whale. We are curious to see if the Pilot whales will stay around for longer, as the last time they were here they only stayed for one day.
