We had great weather today with a light breeze at 1300, which calmed down around 1400 and lots of sunshine.

We encountered a nice Minke Whale north of Svalbardseyri. He came about 3-4m to the front of the boat. We could even see the distinctive white patches on the flippers. The water in the fjord seems to be clearing up actually, giving us great views of the whales underwater. Furthermore we encountered about 6 Humpback Whales but there were approximately 9 Humpbacks in the area (Hjalteyri - green buoy) spread out. One of them popped up decimeters from our boat.
On our way back we also spotted this tiny Minke that we’ve seen a few times before.
