A beautifully sunny day on the fjord! We sailed out with some swell, but the conditions a bit further north in our fjord were excellent and we had a good visibility.
Northeast of Hrísey, we spotted the first blow and encountered the first Humpback Whale of the day, which was soon joined by a second Humpback Whale. They swam in a close area and resurfaced in a way, which did not made us wait for a long time for either one of them! One of them headed further north, as the other Humpback Whale swam towards the south. We stayed with the second whale and saw it come up for a breath a number of times. Just as we were about to leave in order to return to Akureyri, the whale came up in front of us! What a wonderful goodbye as we were able to see the fluke of this whale one more time!
