G’day everyone and welcome on our daily blog. Today we started our first tour at 9am with very good conditions and a little bit of wind from the south, which made the way north very comfortable and most people spend their time outside even in tshirts. Throughout the whole day we encountered plenty of Humpback Whales, at least 4 of them just right next to Hrisey. Two of them hang out together and did some surface resting or they may have been sleeping too. Lots of blows were seen further out in the distance as well. On our ways out and back into the fjord, we also spotted some Harbour Porpoises and even a Minke Whale that was moving rather quick. So plenty of wildlife just around the corner from Akureyri.
We are looking forward to more warm and sunny days like this with lots of friends in the water.
