Hello everyone! What a day in the fjord today! We sailed out in a cloudy day, with light rain but also with very good sea conditions. We spotted 3 different species of cetaceans, Minke whale, the cute and fast Harbour porpoises when we were sailing out on search of larger animals and Humpback whales. We encountered the Humpback whales north Hjalteyri in the morning and South Hrisey in the afternoon. In the morning, while waiting for the Humpbacks for coming back to the surface, a minke whale popped up just few meters from us and thanks to the mirror-like sea, we were able to see its entire body through the water, amazing encounter! Then the humpback whales were feeding very close to the surface giving us the chance to see their part of their mouth and rostrum making the trip memorable. Look forward to come back tomorrow!
