Dearest readers of the blog,
Pretty good day in the fjord. The weather was fairly windy all through the day, with choppy seas. We were also treated with some spooky fog which rolled in as the day went on.
There were several Humpback Whales in the fjord, all situated around the north of Hrisey. On the morning rib we found something really special, a mother calf humpy pair. The mother was diving deep and leaving the calf at the surface. The calf was pretty large at the this point but we still took extra care in not approaching the whale so not to disturb them in any way. We found 2 pairs later in the afternoon and had a really nice tour with no other boats around, whales diving down all around us.
