Hello everyone, today was cold but sunny weather. In the morning, we had the opportunity to see harbor porpoises as soon as we left the port. About 10 harbor porpoises pop up very close to the boat. Almost everyone on the ship had the opportunity to see them, even though they are very shy and often disappear quickly. We continued further north and searched for bigger cetaceans. And we found quite a few not far from Hjalteyri. About 4 humpback whales were around us. Some further away, others closer to the ship. One came at us very close. Our guests had the opportunity to see the whale in its full beauty...its size, its big white pectoral fins, its head and finally its fluke. It is always a unique moment to see a whale so close. We had the opportunity to see two more whales that traveled together and another dived deeper right next to us with a majestic black tail. What an amazing morning. We also saw Atlantic Puffins, Black guillemot, Artic Tern, Artic skua and Eider Duck. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the afternoon tours because of the weather. But we are already looking forward to the next days with our whales.
