Hello dear readers!

After few days with the whales quite far from Akureyri, finally we have them back closer. This morning on a sunny and windy day we went out in search of cetaceans and right after the town of Hjalteyri we had our first whale of the day, a Humpback whale surfacing calmly close to our boat. In the afternoon tours we found again the same Humpback whale in the same area but as this time it was spending so much time feeding below the surface, we decided to sail further north and see what else we could find. Then, it was east of Hrísey island where we found another Humpback whale, much more easy to spot as it was most of the time returning from its deep dive around the same area. Together with the whale sightings, we spot many birdlife in the fjord: Arctic terns, fulmars, arctic skuas, whopper swans, kittiwakes, red throated diver

Another beautiful day in Eyafjorður. See you tomorrow!
