The days are getting persistently shorter while we are still experiencing calm sea conditions, Sunrise was quite a sight this morning as there were all the shades of blue dancing in the skyline. The temperatures rose back to more Octoberish numbers and the amount of whales we are seeing at this moment is genuinely quite hard to comprehend.

In the morning we met plenty of Harbour Porpoises along the way, 2 MInke Whales around the Green Buoy, 1 Humpback Whale northeast of this position. After spending about 25 minutes with this individual, we decided to see what is happening past Hjalteyri around Rauðavík. And the answer is yes. There had to be around 20 Humpback Whales, some of them in tight groups of up to 5 individuals. There was not a single minute, where you would have to wait for something to look at. Very exciting and we hope this great gathering will endure for some time as this is as good as whale-watching gets.
