Good afternoon everyone reading this, we hope you are having some cosy weekend plans. Seeing whales with us these days has been a good adventurous change to take. The nature here provides a cold but rather unforgettable experience. Early morning we had surprisingly calm conditions as the forecast did not look very promising. A cloudy sky with the southwestern wind gradually picking up throughout the day usually means trouble here. But not this time. Icelandic weather can be highly unpredictable. This time it worked in everyone’s favor.

We did travel past Hjalteyri this morning, around Rauðavík, there were 6+ Humpback Whales. After many nice and close encounters, we did not need to move at all. Just patiently waiting for those super close encounters. When we turned to go back home, we saw a Minke Whale not very far from this point. Around the Green Buoy, we stumbled upon a feeding frenzy of Harbour Porpoises, could be a hundred of these hungry Porpoises. Pretty cool sight, birds diving, some of them having fish in their beak. Some special time out there today.
