Cold mornings persistently stick around and we have nicely calm conditions out there. The sun is hanging low and from time to time it brightens up the sky as it makes its way through the clouds. It has been a light show with the whales this morning.
Things are going our way, to be more exact whales are. We found an over sized group of Humpback Whales North of Green Buoy, in one certain location there was at least 8 Humpback Whales. But there was more in all directions. Northeast there was also 1 Minke Whale. We got to see a group of 4 Humpbacks swimming as a unit and another group of 3 just hundred meters from them. Insanely fun encounters today.
In our afternoon tour we sailed out to just south of the buoy and found ourselfs right in the middle of 5 Humpback Whales. The same ones we have already seen in the morning just slightly further south this time. We also saw a Harbour Porpoise jumping next to us and 3 Minke Whales. Our last encouter was not to top also. 3 Humpbacks swimming together towards our boat, two went behind us and one underneath, then they popped up at the same time and went down. Everyone couldn’t believe how amazing that encounter was.
