Another day of sailing into a cold, snowy fjord. The overall weather conditions were good with a little wind and small waves.
Outside of Hauganes, we spotted our first blow today! We saw one Humpback, swimming by itself. Shortly after seeing this Humpback Whale, we saw more blows a bit further north, in what turned out to be four more Humpbacks! These four were resurfacing together, always coming up and going down for their deep dives one after the other. Absolutely stunning to see them! We could observe them very well and had a few closer encounters, while the other Humpback resurfaced several times in the same area, a bit further away. We were able to see this singular Humpback from a little distance throughout our tour, while we mostly stayed in the area of the other four whales.
So, we were very excited to see a total of five Humpback Whales in this area! What a great day!
