Hello all whale enthusiasts,

Today we set off in warmer weather, southerly winds and wind waves to Hjalteyri up to 2 meters from Hjalteyri to the north up to 2.5 meters. Polar stratospheric clouds appeared in the sky, which we could observe during the entire tour.

We also enjoyed the amazingly colored sky, which together with the clouds created a truly magical atmosphere. And suddenly we saw two whales exhaling. We had the Humpback Whales near the boat and we had the opportunity to see their size and also their large pectoral fins. Humpback Whales have white pectoral fins here around Iceland. Everything that is white in the water appears to be turquoise from above. So we had the opportunity to see the turquoise color under the water surface and everyone could imagine how big the pectoral fins are. 1/3 the size of the whale's body. So, for a 17-meter whale, they can easily be 5-6 meters long. We also had the opportunity to see their different tails when they dived into the depths of the fjord. We saw this view several times and we enjoyed it with all our hearts.

Tomorrow is Christmas, a time of miracles, and although we experience them together with our whale friends constantly, we are already looking forward to what tomorrow will bring us :-)
