Good morning, afternoon or evening to you. If you were wondering how was our mission today, I might have a story for you.

Beware the boring weather description incoming: A moderate wind coming from the SW direction rolling down the mountains has been pushing us on our way towards North. When we started - right in the beginning we saw a very rare type of clouds in the sky, so called polar stratospheric clouds, in icelandic glitský. Regarding whales, we were trying to work out a plan, as the last position from yesterday was around the Green Buoy and that gave us a decent chance of finding something further in the fjord. As we were making our way through we were trying to cooperate with all the other boats that were out in the Eyjafjorður waters looking for cetaceans just like us. It seemed to be a day, that won’t make our hopeful visitors very happy. We evaluated all the information and turned back after we reached past Rauðavík. We were left with about 30 minutes of the tour to give it a last shot and inspect the situation at Pollurin. We have overheard from some of our customers that they have seen whales right next to the harbour just yesterday.

It was a long shot, but our only chance to see whales today. And it turned out to be a lucky one. We found here 2 Humpback Whales resurfacing after very short dives. Although this sighting was awesome and we have eventually managed to see those whales many times before turning back to the fishing harbour, we have decided to give away complimentary tickets, as we believe that it was only fair to do so. Few of our passengers have also spotted some Harbour Porpoises on our way back.

Overall, this was an unforgettable experience for anyone on board.

Hoping for these whales to stick around Pollurin so we can enjoy the look at them for a bit longer than today.
