The weather and sailing conditions were good today! It was calm, with only a little wind in the fjord.
We sailed out to the area south of Hrísey, where we spotted the first blows! We encountered the first Humpback Whales, about four of them together! After they went for their deep dives, we did not have to wait long at all to see the next blows of surfacing Humpbacks! In total, we had over 10 individuals in this area, which we continued to spot all around our boat! Some blows could be seen a bit further in the distance, while we had amazing and close encounters with a few of the other Humpbacks. Some were swimming by themselves, but we did see several groups of up to five Humpback Whales swimming together! At points, it was even hard to decide which direction to look, as they came up at the same time. What an unforgettable day!
