Today it took us 1 minute to get to a Humpback Whale that’s been feeding right in Pollurin which is the harbour bay of Akureyri. There was only a light breeze in the air which made sea conditions absolutely beautiful. Quite some ice floating around here and there but this Humpback knew how to navigate around it. I think today we saw as much as you could from one of these hungry big boys. Very frequent lunge feeding at the surface, even rolling on its side. Therefore we could see the fluke, belly, rostrum and of course the back and pectoral fins. Everyone really enjoyed this calm trip just watching a whale do it’s thing. I wish I was more ready to take a picture sometimes but again, it is so very important to let the camera rest and enjoy the view to make some quality memories.
