Today, we had cold, but calm and great overall weather conditions.
We sailed out from the fishing harbor today due to ice around the pier in our usual harbor. Nevertheless, we spotted one Humpback Whale in Pollurinn! How exciting! We got to watch this whale for a while, as it kept resurfacing really frequently and was even lunge feeding several times. Unbelievable!
We sailed further out to take a round in Eyjafjörður and to keep searching and we encountered the same Humpback Whale again when we were almost back in town. This time, we spotted it by the warm waterfall as it was heading north. There, it showed resting behavior and resurfaced very slowly and calmly. Absolutely incredible to watch this whale come up for air close to us, hearing its breath!
