Greetings to our faithful whale-watching friends,

We started our day with amazing weather— the water was like glass and the sun was shining! We got off to a great start by spending some time with a Minke Whale that was feeding near the surface, so we got a great view of how large the whale was. Shortly after, we viewed three Humpbacks. Two of the humpbacks were feeding side by side. All sightings on this tour were close to the green buoy. On our way back to Pollurinn, we spotted two more Minkes close to the shore near Gasir. We also saw some Harbour Porpoises! Or was one of them a Sei Whale? This was a debate this afternoon and most of us were leaning on the side of Sei.

In the afternoon we had a slight wind, but the sun was still shining. We began our tour with the incredible sight of two Humpbacks breaching at Heitifoss! One also did a pec slap for us. The two of them headed south towards Pollurinn. On our way back we saw a pod of Harbour Porpoises which we estimate could have been about 20 individuals. It was another great day to be on the fjord!
