Welcome to your daily dose of whale watching.

A glassy and sunny day on Eyjafjordur! The kind of weather we dream about having. These beautiful conditions make spotting whales a breeze and we started the morning tours with some nice sightings of Harbour Porpoises. These tiny cetaceans put on a little show for us, being much more visible than usual, and one even breached— such a cute sight! We spent the tour with 3 beautiful Humpback Whales South of Hjalteyri. We enjoyed some very close encounters while we drifted with the engines off, listening to the breath of the whales and working on our sun tans in the peaceful weather.

There were many Arctic Skuas today preforming aerial acrobatics to steal food from the other birds.

During the afternoon the sightings were also breathtaking. We saw up to 4 Humpback whales they were all stretched across the fjörð from North Svalbarðseyri to South Hjalteyri. But that was not all, because the sea was so glassy even the 2 Minke whales we saw North of Svalbarðseyri were very easy to spot.
