It was a rainy and windy day in the fjord and we had some swell throughout the day.
Nevertheless, it was so worth it to sail out! We encountered Harbor Porpoises as well as a Minke Whale by Hjalteyri. The birdlife is thriving as well, we spotted several different species, including Northern Fulmars, Guillemots, Razorbills and even a few Puffins!
North of Svalbarðseyri, we encountered two Humpback Whales! One of them was tail throwing and tail slapping in the morning, making big splashes! Further north, by Rauðavík, we saw more Humpbacks. There were blows all around! We had close encounters with at least four of them and saw even more blows out in the distance north of us. Absolutely beautiful!
