A busy day for us on Ejyafjordur,

The wind today was out of the southwest and was creating some waves, but this didn’t stop the whales from being out in full force. Our morning tours took us around Hjalteyri, where we saw many Humpback Whales. We enjoyed many, many dives with lots of opportunities to get great fluke photos for identifying some individuals. Some of the dives were quite close to our RIB boats as well.

In the afternoon we had some very energetic behaviour with one whale breaching as well as tail slapping repeatedly. Our Classic Tour was treated to a very good view of this display between whales. We also have a whale that was injured last year by a propeller back in the Fjord and is now healed with a very unique scar.
