It’s summer time! We have some sunshiny vibes here today, 16 degrees Celsius, basically we are all boiling. It almost does not feel like the land of Vikings that you would picture when you hear the name “Iceland”.

We set off in the morning and it was just wonderful, found 2 Humpback whales, one of them our favorite - Piccolo and we were observing them surface feeding followed by many beautiful deep dives very close to us, They were located along with 2 Minke Whales just South of our often used orientation point - the Green Buoy. It was certainly a great time with the whales and everyone left with a smile on their face.

In the afternoon it was a little more windy, but still very sunny. On the express tours we encountered the same 2 Humpbacks from the morning, but this time they were lunge feeding together, shooting out of the water straight with their mouths still open. After about 30 minutes they split up and went their own ways.

Later in the afternoon we encountered 2 Humpbacks again. One was pec slapping and the other one tail slapping literally right in front of us for 15 minutes straight.

A beautiful day to be out.
