Happy Monday Whale Watchers,
This morning was very nice, with a light wind, and little bits of sunshine peeking through the clouds. Our morning tours began with a cruise north on our beautiful Fjord to the south of the Island of Hrisey. We enjoyed 2 Humpback Whales in this area and were treated to a couple close encounters on our Express Tours. Our Classic Tour got lucky and witnessed another Humpback Whale breaching two times! In this area we also saw one Minke Whale as well as some adorable Harbour Porpoises. On our way back, the wind picked up so we enjoyed riding the waves back to the Harbour.
In the afternoon we saw Harbor Porpoises right at the beginning of our tour.. two jumped up near our boat.. we also saw a sneaky Minke Whale.... as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared... And the best part at the end... we saw a hungry Humpback Whale...and this one filled its belly close to the water surface, so we didn't have to wait for it long time…
Our midnight tour was nothing short of magical, with feeding Humpbacks, a Minke Whale, and a beautiful sunset to top it all off.
