Good afternoon,

our morning today was as glassy as a mirror until we reached the southern shores of Hrísey, then the wind picked up decently.

On the way we were surfing along with these cute little ones called Harbour Porpoises, there was definitely more different pods as we found them lunging themselves sometimes all the way out of the water in few different spots. Around Hauganes we got to spot Minke Whale and by the surfacing behaviour it seemed to be feeding, which is really cool to see. What is not so cool is on the other hand the smell of their breath and unfortunately we got to smell it. Stinky Minke is definitely a fitting nickname for those lovely torpedo looking like whales.

We took a chance to go a bit more North in the morning and although the waves there were playing with the boats, we got to find the champion of the fjord - a Humpback Whale. It did a tail-throw for us and few beautiful dives. This happened by the northern tip of Hrísey. Some of our boats went to the north-western side of Hrísey and there was 3 Humpback Whales, one of them super close to us.

Afternoon stories are just behind the corner, so stay tuned.
