We sailed out in perfectly amazing weather conditions today. Flat sea and sunshine in the fjord, surrounded by snow capped mountain tops.
On our tours, we encountered three different Humpback Whales! Two of them were spotted swimming together on the morning tour by Svalbarðseyri as well as the third one south of Hjalteyri!
Two of these individuals were also encountered on our afternoon tour. We had plenty of beautiful and close up encounters during our tours today!
The Humpback, which we saw by Hjalteyri on both tours, is our well-known Ískona. This Humpback Whale is one of our regulars, it keeps coming back into our fjord every year since 2019! We are extremely excited to see Ískona again and are curious to see how long this whale will be in our fjord for this year!
