Another day in paradise over here. The views of the fjord with mountains covered in fresh snow look extraordinary today, we are experiencing nearly no wind and it should stay like that according to the weather forecast.
The autumnal colours are kicking in and it just looks damn good out there. There is just one thing that should be considered, so you feel nice and warm on our tours, it is decently cold on the water and you can have some extra layers to enjoy your time with us.
Morning has been very successful so far, we did not have to travel very far, we have encountered the first whales in the South of Green Buoy, there was a Minke Whale and a Humpback Whale. We traveled after some minutes a bit further North to give them some space and we found another 3+ Humpback Whales only 5-10 minutes away from the previous location. Some of the encounters were really beautiful, we got a bunch of times close and as the fjord is looking glassy today it felt serene and calm to see them breaking the surface one by one.
Afternoon EDIT: Its been a day to behold, all together in the afternoon we found 4 Humpback Whales, 3 of them swimming at first scattered around the same area between Svalbarðseyri and Green Buoy just to get united within a few moments and diving in a synchronized manner. The fourth Humpback Whale was alone a bit further North close to Hjalteyri.
See you tomorrow!
