Good morning whale friends…

We had an incredible day today! We had a mirror-like surface, almost without wind. And around us snow-covered mountain peaks and about 100 hungry Harbour porpoises, E of the green buoy. Some of them were also very curious and came to take a close look at our boat. Not only that, we also had the opportunity to look at the porpoises below the surface, since they decided to follow us up close! They were playing and frolicking. But among them, someone bigger was also feeding: a Minke whale. Today it seemed to me that all the whales were curious because even the sneaky Minke came to take a close look at us… And finally the Humpback whale, but it was not alone! E of Hjalteyri 2 Humpbacks were calmly swimming and surfacing around us. And another Minke sneaking behind them!

In the afternoon it was topped up because E of the green buoy we found the Minke whale again, and the 2 Humpbacks E of Hjalteyri. But we ventured a little further North this time and we found 3 Humpback whales east of Rauðavik, and 2 of them were swimming side by side!

What an amazing day we have had! 2 Minke whales and 5 humpback whales.
