Sailing out in calm weather conditions, with more of a swell further north in the fjord today. Throughout our tour, it started snowing heavily, but we had the best time out on the water!
East of Hrísey, we encountered at least eight Humpback Whales, and saw more blows in the distance north of us! We watched one group of three Humpbacks come right towards us, deep diving right in front of our boat! Another group of four Humpbacks swam together, always resurfacing in their group. Additionally, we saw one Humpback swimming by itself close by. More blows were spotted in the distance further north in the fjord. As if this was not enough, we had all eight whales surface at the same time and several of them started surface feeding! Unbelievable. One of these Humpbacks stayed with us and kept feeding at the surface, swimming in circles underwater, blowing bubbles before surfacing on its side, with the mouth very wide open - much like what we got to witness yesterday! We are speechless after another incredible tour with amazing wildlife encounters!
