Today, we set sail under the clearest of skies, with temperatures at a crisp -9°C and not a breath of wind in sight. The mountains surrounding us were painted in a soft, pink glow from the morning sunrise, creating a magical backdrop for our journey. We saw our first Humpback whale south of Hrisey.

What we found was a playful humpback whale, whose behavior seemed like it was playing a game of hide and seek with us. It took some time, but after a bit of searching, we managed to spot it. At one point, the whale came so close to our boat that our guests had the incredible opportunity to witness its head, pectoral fins, and massive body up close. It was a breathtaking moment to see such a gentle giant up close like that, and we all marveled at its grace and size.

It’s days like these that remind us just how beautiful and unpredictable nature can be. We’re already looking forward to what tomorrow will bring—who knows what wonders await us on the water?
