The sun came out today and was shining all day long! Together with hardly any wind, this made for ideal weather conditions for our tour today!
Piccolo, the Humpback Whale which we have seen on many of our recent tours, was once again in Pollurinn today! At first it kept some distance, moving quite a bit in between the breaths, but we waited patiently with our engines turned off and got rewarded with super beautiful and close encounters! The Humpback resurfaced very close to us, we heard the breath really well and saw the whale close-up! It does not get old seeing our cetaceans in Eyjafjörður up-close, especially when we get to spot them just a few minutes into sailing right here by Akureyri.
While sailing further out, we additionally spotted one pod of Harbor Porpoises by Svalbarðseyri.
